I was first introduced to this product a year or so ago by my boss. His simple post-it scribble marked the page of this re-issued product by industrial designer Joe Colombo that was first released in 1966.

Ever since then I’ve been in love with it. The mini-kitchen is a very interesting study of compaction, simplicity, and pure beauty of form. This 3 1/2′ long kitchen on wheels provides a mini-fridge, electric cooktop, storage, cutting board, and pull out worksurface. The simplicity of  its form and its modern appearance make me want to have a small studio apartment and one of these.
This cart also reminds me of the sleek designs apple is putting out these days…simple forms, clean lines, minimal colors; i can only hope that when our products are on the shelves that they can be appreciated also for their clean forms and compact design that captures a bit of what this little cart is about. The only difference is one of our tools will run you significantly less than this piece of fine design which is available through Boffi for $30,000.
