So I stumbled upon this company through work. I travel to MA for a project I am working on and usually stay at this posh little bed and breakfast called Porches. They have a small gift shop that carries some unique gifts and I spotted these baby blankets from a company called Crispina. (The B&B also has its bedding made from this company)
I thought I’d share the link and info since they have fairly affordable and extremely cute blankets made of recycled sweaters. The looped rugs are also another favorite of mine.
The company uses post-consumer garments purchased from a network of clothing wholesalers around the globe and uses the items as ‘raw materials’ for their blankets, rug, mittens, sweaters, etc. Even the small amout of waste the studio uses is locally turned into an alternative source of fuel used to heat the University of Massachusets, Amherst.
I haven’t visited their studio yet but plan to make a detour one of these trips.
